Huon Pine is one of the slowest growing trees in the world, growing in girth at 1mm per year. They can grow to be 2,500years old which means some of them started life BC!
Huon Pine cannot be cut down as they are protected and Forestry Tasmania will only allow the of timbers that have naturally fallen into the rivers and banks. Huon Pine was historically used to build boats due to its waterproof properties. Naturally salvaged, you can be confident in knowing that your piece, like you, is unique and not like any other.
