Description
This is a large square chopping board created using reclaimed Messmate timber from the supports of a 1940’s home in Melbourne’s East, Australia. With 77 years of a life well lived, the result is beautifully historic. You can see the now filled nail holes where the nails were hammered into the timber by hand. The interesting part of all this is that the timber on this board all came from the same location. The darker stripe was where the roof had been damaged so it had weathered many storms.
Fitting the depth of a standard benchtop, this piece will give you more surface & preparation space.
Prepared on both sides making this board reversible. Measures: 57 x 57 x 2.8 cm Weight: 7.5kg
